17 Year Old Planned To Bomb School- Tampa Florida

In Tampa Bay Florida police said they’ve arrested a teenager who is 17-years-old who had planned to make the first day of school a day to remember, but luckily the boy didn’t get the opportunity to do that.

The boy, Jared Cano, had a plan to have a mass bombing at the school, similar to the Columbine killings.  Investigators of this case searched his home and found different materials that could be used to make bombs and investigators also found drugs.

The different materials that were in his room that could’ve been used for bomb-making included fuel sources, timing/fusing devices, plastic tubing, and shrapnel. There were NO guns found though in his room. Also found in his room was what Chief Castor called a “manifesto”. This “manifesto” had two specific faculty members he was going to go after and the “manifesto” had an exact timeframe and schedule for his attack.

Now Cano will be charged with multiple felony bomb/drug charges. Chief Castor said the Cano family was being very helpful and cooperative and Chief Castor and other investigators have no reason to believe that the Cano family had any idea of what was going on.

State Attorney’s Office will be determining if Cano should either be tried as an adult or as a juvenile.

Jared Cano had a Facebook with reference links to drugs and violence. Latest update from him on Facebook was a status update yesterday morning saying, quote “I jut [sic] did the dumbest thing ever.”
